Free Dining in December!

Disney is giving away their dining plan for FREE — for select dates in September, October, November and even for the holiday month of December!  That’s almost unheard of.

For now … the free dining plan is only available to people who have a Disney Visa — though I hardly know of a Disney fan who doesn’t have one of those.

HOWEVER, these discount codes are normally released to the general public a few days after being released to Disney Visa members … so a general public discount code is probably on the way.

If you are interested in the free dining plan the code you need is: QXZ.  What you do is call Disney at 407-939-7635 and tell them you want the free dining plan with the code “QXZ.”  

Here’s an example of the prices for a vacation with this promotion:

4 nights/5 days @ a Disney Value Resort. Only $63 per person, per day.
Total package price of $1,253 is based on 2 adults, 1 junior and 1 child in a standard room, for stays most nights  9/28-10/11, 11/9-11/22, 12/14-12/20/08

Pleasure Island Closing

Last week I made a reservation for our 2009 trip to Disney World.  I received the following notice in my ‘confirmation email’ from Disney this week.  Apparently, Disney is closing Pleasure Island in the next few months.

It looks like Disney is closing down Pleasure Island — and will be making more restaurant and shops at the Downtown Disney area.  I kinda like this idea.  In all the times I’ve been to Disney we have never visited Pleasure Island — just haven’t had the opportunity to be alone at that time of night without kids … LOL.  We always thought we’d do it someday.  Oh well!  I do agree Downtown Disney could use a few more restaurants.
