Popcorn Giveaway

Do you like popcorn? How about a free popcorn bowl and plenty of popcorn to fill it a couple times — and some coupons to buy more thrown in?

You all know I’ve been trying hard to get in shape for our upcoming Disney vacation. One of my favorite snacks for our ‘movie nights’ with the kids is popcorn. So, when the people from Orville Redenbacker asked me if I would like a sample kit of their popcorn I jumped at the chance. I was thrilled to receive a package a few days later with a cute popcorn bowl, several packages of microwavable popcorn, and coupons.

This past weekend we watched “Singing in the Rain” (I know, very old — but the kids loved it) and munched our popcorn. It was delicious! And — I didn’t have to ruin my diet eating it — PLUS, popcorn is a great alternative for the kids when they want to snack on candy or something else not so healthy for the teeth (remember, my post a few days ago about cavities!).

Orville Redenbacker’s popcorn is made with 100% whole grains and is a great source of fiber! Many of the varieties have zero trans fats. You can also buy them in 100 calorie packs — great if you are watching your calories. In our sample kit there was a bag of the SmartPop which is 94% fat free — I didn’t think I would like it and was ready to add some butter to it … LOL. Surprisingly, it was very tasty — even my husband enjoyed it — and it’s great for him since it has 0mg of cholesterol and he needs to lower his cholesterol level.

My son is drinking all my coffee!

My son who recently graduated from college is now home — looking for a job. He’s having a hard time finding employment — the economy is bad and no one seems to be hiring. Besides he doesn’t have a clue to what type of career he’ interested in. So …. he’s home with us for the time being — and drinking my  coffee!!!! LOL … it’s okay … it’s kinda nice to come downstairs in the morning and finding the coffee has already been made. He wasn’t a coffee drinker the last time he was home (and that was just a few months ago). I guess those senior exams really got to him. Well, I guess it’s time I order some more coffee to keep the pantry stocked for us both.

Blue Host nows provides unlimited domain hosting

I just got off the phone with Blue Host website hosting. You see, they are my number one choice for hosting websites and I had noticed some advertisements lately indicating that they now offer customers unlimited domains hosted on one account for just $6.95. When I signed up with them a little over a year ago I was restricted to 6 domains and I noticed my account still had that limitation. I wondered, what’s the catch? and why am I restricted but a new customer is not?

I picked up the phone to find out. Now, most website hosting companies are notorious for long waits on the customer service line — many never answer the phone — and still others don’t even have a phone contact (be sure to check for that when signing up with a hosting company — very important to have a phone number to reach someone when you need them). When I called today the phone was answered on the first ring; I pushed the correct number for technical support and was told I was #12 in line — yikes! I thought I was in for a long wait. But, no … music played in the background and every 20 seconds or so I was told what number I was currently …. the entire wait was three minutes. Truly, not bad for a website hosting company. The person I spoke to was very courteous and helpful. Within a few short minutes my control panel showed my ability to have unlimited domains from this point forward.

It couldn’t have been easier — and now I’m wondering what new website I can come up with….. LOL.
