Better Blogging

I’m often doing things around the house when a great idea comes to me that I would like to write about here on my blog.
I’ll be doing the laundry and have a whole blog post running through my mind — only to forget half of those great words when I go to write the post later on in the day. Sewing is also a creative outlet for me and great ideas come to me as I’m sewing. Unfortunately, I don’t have my laptop with me during these creative moments. I do employ the use of a pad of paper in my pocket to jot down great ideas. But, still … I look at those notes later on and say, “what was I thinking when I wrote this?”
I’ve often thought it would be great to have a tape recorder attached to me so I could get all these good ideas recorded for later transcribing. Well…. someone has actually gone a step further than that! And that’s Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 Standard or Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 Preferred.
With this program there’s no need to even type — it does it for you at a speed up to 150 words per minute. I’m a great typist but still can only type about 90 words per minute and that’s when I’m not trying to think of what to say at the same time. Imagine your blog post being typed at the same time as you are thinking of its content. All those great ideas captured as you are thinking of them. It’s like a digital camera in your brain getting word images straight to your blogging platform!
Seriously, this program has me sold. I can see some major benefits to having this program. For instance, all that time I spend doing mundane tasks like the dishes, laundry and even walking on the treadmill or cycling on the stationery bike can be put to great use. And, I believe my writing will be more creative and more deeply thought out — making it easier to share with everyone. As a busy, working mom, I’m a master at multitasking — this program will make that job even easier!

Well that certainly sounds interesting and is a great concept. I remember back the the early days of computers and interent that there were a few “speak to type” programs avaliable to the public, but most of them were geared towards those who are handicapped and can’t type. But this sounds like the new and improved type. I will have to check it out more carefully.

This program is awesome !!!!!!! We just ordered it for our son who wants to write his own story but due to his learnining disabilities he can’t type it out, and I can type but not as fast as he is telling his story or ideas.
I was thinking of using this program for myself also since I have firbomyalgia there are many times when my hands are stiff or in pain and I can’t type. This will help both of us
I have also heard from other homeschool moms that have purchased it and use it for their younger children that can’t read or write yet. They can tell a story and you can print it out preserving this wonderful memory forever
I have used DNS in the past and absolutely love the program. I got a lot of use out of it when I was in college and had to write a lot of papers. I can see how it would be great for every day use too, especially for folks who belong to a lot of forums.
Homeschool Mom, I never thought of that … you are right … this would be great for my son who struggles with getting his thoughts down on paper. He has such great ideas but the path from brain thoughts to words on the paper get jumbled. Lorie
