Boot Camp

The gym I attend is having a ‘boot camp’ session to help kick-start member’s workout routines for the upcoming holidays.  Along with the boot camp there are a variety of informational seminars.   Last week’s seminar was on healthy eating — and the importance of drinking plenty of water throughout the day.  That’s something I need to improve on and I bet drinking more water would improve my overall health.  I drink too much diet coke.  This week’s seminar at the gym is on various weight loss methods. It should be an interesting session. Next week is the importance of weight training — which surprisingly is something I do enjoy. I like the competitive nature of it. I do my three rounds of 10 pounds and can’t wait to be able to ‘up’ the weight limit to the next level. I like seeing ‘real’ progress.

Proud Boy

Only a crazy, fun-loving, 11 year old boy could be proud to show off one of his first zits.  Here is today, pretending to be shocked:

And hoping I have some magical
acne cures up my sleeve. He even wanted a second pose

to really show the zit off:

I have a funny suspicion he won’t be so happy to show off in a few years!  I think he ate too much of his brother’s birthday cake, if you ask me!

We did make it to the restaurant in time for the birthday dinner — and both birthday boys had a great time. Here’s they are enjoying the cake and Happy Birthday sung in Italian at the Macaroni Grill:

Dinner was delicious and we all had a great time. Even my granddaughter stayed awake the entire time — she’s usually in bed by 7 p.m. it seems. Here she is:

I, however, still do not have a running car — we’re off to get a battery today. Hopefully, that is the issue and not something more serious.

After that my husband and I are planning to catch a new movie that was just released yesterday. We haven’t gone to the movies alone in a long time. We’re planning on seeing “Fireproof.” I’ll let you know how it goes.  Here’s the trailer for the movie:
