When we lived in Jacksonville, Florida we had annual passes to the Disney World theme parks and would often go down for the weekend and stay just one or two nights at one of the inexpensive hotels in Kissimmee. This is a great way for anyone to save money on Orlando vacations — especially if you plan to visit other attractions like Sea World and Universal Studios.
In fact, if your plan is to get up early each day and hit the parks and stay until near closing then a hotel in Kissimmee or Lake Buena Vista would be a great choice. There are plenty of hotels to choose from in this area and all are very reasonably price. You will also find that larger families can often book a family suite at a good price.

I lived in the Tampa Bay area until July. We used to get a hotel in Kissimmee and go to Disney for a weekend too. We would head out Friday after work and go to Old Town in Kissimmee for the night. I love the shop Black Market Minerals. They have great prices on jewelry. There is always something going on in Old Town. The rest of the weekend we would eat the complimentary breakfast at the hotel that we stayed in and head to the parks. We’d have lunch at the park and eat dinner at Maceroni Grill. Afterwards we would go to Downtown Disney or Universal City Walk. We saved a lot of money that way.
