We were away for just a few days but still came home to a ton of mail in our mailbox. I nearly fainted when I saw our water bill — over $300. This is for three months as our water company bills us quarterly. It’s never been that high — usually around $150 and even that I think is high in comparison to my neighbors — but we do have 6 people living in the house. I’m wondering if we don’t have a water leak somewhere … this is crazy.
On a good note … and trying to make lemonade out of this high water bill — I received my Kohl’s flyer for the current sale going on where you can get a 15%, 20% or 30% coupon for shopping at Kohls the next few days — and I got a 30% code! Of course, this means spending money that needs to go to the water bill — however, the kids do need new fall clothes and 30% off on top of the sales they are having is a good deal.
I would of fainted too if I would of saw that high of a water bill. You can call the office and have them check on why is so high or what the rate changes were.
Congrats on getting such a great coupon too.
We live in an apartment so we usually do not get water bills as that is built into the rent. However, when we lived in an apartment in Texas, they charged us for water by usages. Up until that point I had never even thought about how much water we used. I was caught off gaurd when we got our first bills and it was $26, for 3 people in a 2 bedroom apartment which was empty all day. Definitely made the question that ultra efficent washing machine we had purchased.
