Homeschool Conventions

I attended a homeschool convention this past weekend. It was a lot of fun meeting up with friends I hadn’t seen in a while. What I enjoy most about conventions is the ability to be recharged for another school year — most conventions have a great group of speakers to choose from — in addition to plenty of vendors selling their wares.

Of course, getting to see new books and possible items to help improve our schooling is always a good thing. This year I was pretty good at buying only what I need for the upcoming school year. Basically, new math books and a few other essentials.

My husband joined me with the kids for Saturday afternoon. We had the kids select anything they wanted to buy to help them feel a part of the decision process. We came away with another bag full of novels for summer reading enjoyment at the pool.

If you are thinking about homeschooling a great place to start your research is by visiting The HomeSchool Mom website. This is not a sponsored post — however, I find she has a lot of information on homeschooling and a nice selection of conventions listed by state.

Have fun!
