Exercising

For the past two weeks I’ve been walking 3 to 5 miles per day — it’s been great! I’ve also been taking several bike rides each day. I wanted to get in shape for Disney — just going to the gym wasn’t doing anything for me. I felt I had hit a plateau. Doing the weight machines and treadmill had gotten old and apparently my body was just tired of this routine.

I figured I had to get use to all the walking we’d be doing at the theme parks — so I might as well start now.

I can’t believe how good I feel. I’m sleeping better — eating better — and just feel great all around. And I’ve dropped a whole dress size. And my family is happier. I often take a walk with each child alone and those walks have been so precious — they will talk about a lot of things when they know they have my attention. At night I often take a walk with my husband and that has been great to have time alone away from the craziness of the kids at home.

I’ve also met more of my neighbors and have enjoyed the great spring weather we’ve been blessed with here.

I can’t believe how different my outlook on life has changed since I started this walking routine.
